Router help needed

you need the configuration software to set up the encryption and access

its set by step at that point

if its non wireless and not working probably broken

I followed the very simple software instructions,,,i get to the end it loads the info and then comes back with an error message.

Lynksys...I cant get the Router to work...It goes thru the whole process and comes back with an error message saying it was unable to establish a connection.

Are you trying to configure for PPPoE and can't connect with your Internet Provider?

I haven't had much experience with Linksys, but I do know they have a power down cycle after you configure it goes like this



Un-power all devices and your PC.

Connect an Ethernet cable from the DSL modem to the Internet port of the Linksys Router/IAD. Keep the Ethernet cable from the computer connected directly to the Linksys Router/IAD. Power on the DSL modem, waiting until it has had an opportunity to resync with the DSL provider. Observe the indicator lights located on the modem and wait for the lights to stop blinking. A light indicating Power as well as DSL (or Internet, Online, Ready, etc.) should become solid to indicate that a connection to your Internet Service Provider has been established. Next you should power up the Linksys IAD/router waiting about 15 seconds before turning on your computer.

I would swear that you had to have missed a step. Go you go back through the instructions sentence by sentence? That's the only thing I can think of unless you got one that's DOA out of the box.

I had the same problem when I first purchased mine....What I ended up doing was doing a google on Linksys troubleshooting, do a thorough search. I ended up finding a software troubleshooting "program"....You download it and it "automatically" troubleshoots your setup and corrects it.
